Payouts
Convertly handles the full commission lifecycle from order attribution through to creator payment.Commission Lifecycle
Every attributed order goes through these stages:Order Attributed
A customer places an order using a creator’s discount code or tracking link. Convertly creates a commission record.
Commission Pending
The commission enters a hold period (default: 14 days). This gives time for returns and cancellations before you commit to paying.
Commission Approved
After the hold period, the commission moves to Approved status. It is now eligible for payout. You can also manually approve commissions early.
Payout Methods
Creators can choose their preferred payout method from the Creator Portal:| Method | How It Works | Minimum Payout |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | Funds sent to creator’s PayPal email | $25 |
| Stripe Connect | Direct bank deposit via Stripe | $25 |
| Store Credit | Credit added to their customer account on your Shopify store | $10 |
Creators set up their payout method in the Creator Portal under Settings. They must connect PayPal or Stripe before they can receive payouts.
Running a Payout Batch
To pay your creators:- Go to Payouts in the sidebar
- Review the list of approved commissions
- Click Run Payout to create a batch
- Confirm the total amount and number of creators
- Convertly processes payments to each creator via their chosen method
Hold Period
The hold period protects you from paying commissions on orders that get refunded. During the hold period:- Full refund — commission is automatically reversed and removed
- Partial refund — commission is proportionally reduced
- Order cancelled — commission is reversed
- 7 days — fast payouts, higher refund risk
- 14 days — balanced (recommended)
- 30 days — conservative, lower risk
Handling Refunds
When a refund occurs on an attributed order:- If the commission is still pending, it is adjusted or removed automatically
- If the commission is already approved but not yet paid, it is adjusted
- If the commission has been paid, a negative adjustment is created and deducted from the creator’s next payout
